Eighty-seven verses in andadi form, held to be the essence of the Atharva Veda. Nammalwar speaks often to his own heart, and the verses dwell on how the Lord, greater than all things, chose the Alwar's small heart as His home; the tradition explains the name "Periya" (great) from this.
