Meaning

O Rain, lord of the deep, hold nothing back! Go into the sea, draw up its water, roar and rise; grow dark in body like the form of the Lord who is the First Cause of all the ages; flash like the discus in the hand of Padmanabha of mighty shoulders, and thunder like His right-whorled conch. Without delay, pour down like the rain of arrows from His bow Sarnga, so that the world may flourish and we may bathe with joy in Margazhi.
